House in Mourning & The Haunting of Destrehan Ghost Tour

Oct 02, 2025 news

Part of our regular tour (October 1–November 5), House in Mourning invites guests to step into the world of 19th-century mourning, exploring how both free and enslaved families expressed grief and honored their loved ones through rituals, symbols, and somber ceremonies that marked the passage of loss. When night falls, the past refuses to rest. The Hauntings of Destrehan ghost tour runs Thursday–Sunday, October 2–November 16, starting at 6:30 PM and lasting about 90 minutes. Explore the plantation after dark, hear chilling stories of tragic deaths and unexplained sightings, and try ghost-hunting tools like dowsing rods and EMF readers in the very rooms where spirits are said to linger. Buy tickets by pressing the gold “Buy Tickets” button at the top of the website. Read More »
