This special tour is offered Thursday through Sunday, October 1st through November 16th from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm
When night falls over Destrehan Plantation, the past refuses to rest. Explore Louisiana’s oldest documented plantation home after dark on The Curse of Destrehan Haunted tour – where history and hauntings collide.
Walk the same halls where generations lived, die, and some say still linger. Hear chilling stories of tragic deaths, unexplained sightings, and the infamous curse said to have doomed the Destrehan family line. Guests over the years have reported shadowy figures, phantom footsteps, playing children giggling in empty rooms, and even the faint notes of a piano no one is playing.
Guided by our expert interpreters, you will journey through the manor and grounds, stopping at the plantations’s most haunted corners. Along the way, you will be introduced to ghost-hunting tools – dowsing rods, EMF readers, and more – you will put them to the test in the very rooms where spirits have been seen, heard, and felt.
What to expect:
- Explore the plantation’s most haunted spaces after dusk
- Hear chilling, true-to-history ghost stories and local legends
- Try your hand with dowsing rods and EMF readers in active locations
- Immerse yourself in mystery, folklore, and forgotten voices
- Guests are welcomed to wear costumes to heighten the experience
